2 HOURS A fully-resourced PSHE / RSE lesson which serves as an introduction to the difference between sex and gender and explores sexuality, identity, language (correct terms) and gender expression. Students will explore new key terminology before investigating the key components of identity and sexual orientation, why some people still find some of the ideas behind this controversial (such as pronoun use) and then educate other students on a trait they will be working on and presenting in small groups (all information needed is included). This lesson is great to consolidate the PSHE 2020/24 spiral curriculum (especially for an LGBT+ unit) or for a Citizenship diversity unit. The lesson has been written for KS5 and is editable, so easy to adapt for your own PSHE planning. An assembly which focuses on why positive attitudes towards learning and good behaviour are essential in order for students to have successful futures. The assembly encourages the students to link their behaviour they display now with their future career prospects and exam results. The assembly also explores the concept of unrealistic expectations when it comes to career prospects and emphasises why working hard at school is not only important but essential for eventual happy and fulfilled lives. For the Gatsby Careers Guidelines - A careers assembly lasting around 20-25 minutes (including short clip) with a focus on why Careers Education is so important and how students can make the most of all the opportunities presented to them whilst in school. The assembly examines the cases of two fictional ex-students, Alisha and Jack, who didn’t take Careers Education seriously and ended up paying the price for it by adding years on to their lives in the time it took them to eventually find their ideal jobs.
